Canadian border officials are on heightened alert after the disappearance and flight of one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings.

In the state's effort to provide broadband access to all Vermonters by year's end, the focus is on some of the most remote areas.

The Labor Department says the state's unemployment rate dropped to 4.2 percent in March.

It's likely that Vermonters will be paying more for gas and diesel fuel soon because legislative leaders want tax hikes to be in place at the beginning of May.

The Vermont House could still vote on a bill that would require labeling of food products containing GMOs.

A spokesman for the Republican Governors' Association says the group has agreed to settle a campaign finance lawsuit filed by Vermont.
