Scott Finn

President & CEO

Scott Finn is president and CEO of VPR and Vermont PBS. His goal is to help everyone find their place and tell their story through public media, and inspire his team to do the best work of their lives.

Scott leads Vermont’s largest media organization, with more than 100 employees, a statewide radio and TV network, and on-demand programs reaching more than 1 million people each month.

Along with the Vermont Public board, Scott helped merge VPR and Vermont PBS into one organization on July 1, 2021. The merger will help the new organization reach new audiences, while continuing the service its existing audience expects.

Scott joined VPR as CEO in May 2018, where he worked to expand VPR's impact and diversify its audience. In 2019, VPR won the National Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in the small market category.

He is formerly the CEO and Executive Director of West Virginia Public Broadcasting, and news director at WVPB and WUSF Public Media in Tampa.

Before that, Scott was an award-winning reporter at the Charleston Gazette, a sixth grade teacher, and a community organizer in Big Ugly Creek, West Virginia (it’s actually a small, beautiful place.)
