Walter Parker

Senior Music Host and Producer

Walter may seem buttoned down while playing classical music, but don't be surprised if you see him touring the back roads of Vermont on his classic Harley Davidson! Walter's passion for classical music is apparent, but his encyclopedic knowledge is indeed impressive. After graduate studies at New York University in Musicology, Walter served as Collection Assistant in the university's Music Library and also catalogued historical jazz records for the Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers University. He began his career in radio at WNCN in New York. He joined VPR in 1984.
