Mar 22, 2016

A Burlington man was shot and killed by police Monday night at the conclusion of an hours-long standoff in downtown, according to Vermont State Police. The circumstances of that shooting is among the topics we cover in wide-ranging interview with Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger.

Weinberger also discussed redevelopment projects in the city's downtown and Waterfront, why the bond rating matters and how Burlington presents itself as the tech and arts hub of the region.

Also in the program, A Vermont Romance. The silent film was shot in Vermont a hundred years ago, with scenes in White River Junction, Montpelier and other Vermont towns. The Vermont International Film Foundation arranged for an elaborate restoration of the original 16mm film, and it will debut this weekend ahead of a statewide tour. Orly Yadin of VTIFF tells us the story.
