Daily Drive Report: Let's Do The Numbers (Updated)

Updated at 3:25 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013

You did it! Thanks to you, VPR achieved it's goal of $465,000 for the June Membership Drive! We'll provide an update next week with all of the stats and details. Also on Monday we'll announce the winning community of our Vermont Town Challenge!

As Kai Ryssdal says on Marketplace: "Let's do the numbers."

VPR's June Membership Drive ends at noon on Saturday. It's been a wild ride. Here are the latest statistics as of 12:30 p.m. on Friday:

  • Total raised: $412,426
  • Left to raise: $52,573
  • Number of pledges: 3,599
  • New Members: 400
  • New Sustaining Members: 400
  • Average pledge: $95
  • Pledges by mail: 40%
  • Pledges by phone: 40%
  • Pledges by web: 20%

If you've been holding off on making a pledge, you might want to do so tonight since we are offering the last "dollar-for-dollar" challenge opportunity for this drive. Every pledge will be doubled and your name will be entered into a drawing happening at 7 p.m. for two airline tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S. thanks to Milne Travel.

Also, don't forget that the Vermont Town Challenge continues. At the moment, Plainfield is holding its lead but it's a tight race! For example, Norwich needs just 18 more pledges to move into first place! Whichever Vermont community makes the most pledges (per capita) by the end of the drive, VPR staff will serve Ben & Jerry's in your town square later this summer. It's a fun way to inspire some friendly competition. And let's face it, who doesn't love ice cream? See the latest standings here.

We are in the home stretch for this membership drive. Thanks to everyone who has made a pledge so far...you keep the "public" in public radio!
