How Vermont's State Colleges Are Navigating A Turbulent Time In Higher Education

Live call-in discussion: Three private Vermont colleges closed this year, the result of profound changes affecting higher education across the country. The Vermont State College system and its roughly 11,000 students are not immune. We're talking about the challenges facing Vermont's state, community and technical colleges, and efforts to keep the schools financially and academically sustainable.

Joining Vermont Edition for the discussion is Jeb Spaulding, chancellor of the Vermont State College system, discussing the demographic, economic and institutional challenges state colleges like Castleton University, Northern Vermont University and Vermont Technical College are facing.

And we'll hear from Joyce Judy, president of the Community College of Vermont, about how Vermont's 12 community college locations deal with similar problems and unique challenges.
