Musical Gold From North Ferrisburg

Music to welcome in chilly November, some beloved Philo Records artists, Montpelier songbird Patti Casey returns to play her home town, and much more!

This program will air on Sunday November 4th from 7-10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

Oisín Mac Diarmada (fiddle) & Daithí Gormley (button accordion) will be performing and discussing tunes and stories from the newly-published ‘Fiddlers of Sligo Tunebook’ in this celebration of the historic Sligo fiddling legacy in Ireland. The date is Sunday November 11th, and the time and place is the BCA Center on Pine St. in Burlington at 6 p.m.

Patti Casey and her band the Wicked Fine Players will perform at the Vergennes Opera House on Saturday November 10th at 7:30 p.m.

Darol Anger will perform with his band upstairs at the Chandler in Randolph on Friday November 9th at 7:30 p.m.

The Ed Larkin old time contradancers presents a contra dance with live music at the Tunbridge Town Hall on Friday November 9th at 7:30 p.m.

Dave Keller is playing 4 shows this week to celebrate the release of his new CD...his performance schedule can be found at www.davekeller.com

On Tuesday, November 6th, Emily Elbert will be performing at Burlington's Light Club Lamp Shop in celebration of the release of her fifth album, We Who Believe in Freedom.

Mamadou Diabate and his band Percussion Mania will be playing at the Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College on Wednesday November 7th at 7 p.m.

The Light Club Lamp Shop in Burlington presents Shtreiml on Monday November 5th at 9:30 p.m.
 
The Hot Pickin' Party will be performing for the Burnham Music Series in Lincoln on Saturday, November 10th,at 7:30 p.m.

The Barre Opera House welcomes “The T & T Tour,” an explosive blues double bill featuring Tommy Castro & The Painkillers and Tinsley Ellis on Friday, November 9 at 8 p.m.

UVM Lane Series Presents Daniel Kahn and Painted Bird at the FlynnSpace in Burlington on Saturday November 10th at 9:30 p.m.

On Friday November 9th , The Bright Wings Chorus will perform at the Old Firehouse in Tinmouth at 7:30 pm.  The Chorus will also be performing at the Four Corners Schoolhouse in E. Montpelier on November 8th and at the Stone Church in Brattleboro on Sunday November 11th. 

The Social Band's 20th anniversary tour concludes this week with performances on Saturday, November 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Congregational Church and on Sunday, November 11th at 3 p.m. at the United Church of Hinesburg

Woodchuck's Revenge will play on Saturday, November 10th at the Rutland Indoor Farmers' Market, starting at 10 a.m.

Beg Steal and Borrow will be the featured guests on Saturday November 10th for Bluegrass Night w/ Catamount Crossing @ Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury - music begins at 7 p.m.

 

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, Vermont Public's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that rewards the pinnacle of arts leadership in Vermont and is the recipient of the 2022 Margaret L Kannenstine Award for Arts Advocacy from the Vermont Council of the Arts.
