There are many different paths to addiction and to recovery.

As the state struggles with the deadly effects of the opioid crisis, we're listening back to a conversation we first aired in April, with two Vermonters with direct experience of addiction and recovery.

Trish Lafayette and Scott Pavek joined Vermont Edition to talk about how they became addicted and what they've gone through in their recoveries. Plus we talked about their thoughts on what can be done moving forward to address the opioid crisis and its effects.

Broadcast on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at noon.

Originally broadcast on Thursday, April 19, 2018 live at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.

Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
