Where does this path lead? To the land of PUBLIC RADIO TERROR.

On this Halloween, we bring you three terrifying interviews: Vermont's history of bringing back the dead, Shirley Jackson illustrated, and managing an evil circus for fun and profit.

Also - let's not bury the lede - Janeis back!

First, we hear from Jason Smiley, an expert on the history of the Eddy family of Chittenden: world-famous in the 19th century for publicly speaking with the dead from their Vermont farmhouse.

Next, we speak to Myles Hyman, an illustrator who has just come out with a graphic novel adaptation of Shirley Jackson's chilling story "The Lottery." The twist is: he's also Shirley Jackson's grandson.

And we close out the hour with Jana Beagley of Nightmare Vermont, on what it takes to run a haunted attraction - and how things get complicated when your theme is a haunted circus and the whole country freaks out about clowns.

Listen... if you dare!

Seriously though, listen. It's all good.

Broadcast live on Monday, October 31, 2016 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
