Bayley Hazen Blue, made by Jasper Hill in Greensboro, won best raw-milk cheese at the 2014 World Cheese Awards in 2014. Greensboro is home to this award-winning farm and Hill Farmstead, the best ranked brewery in the world.

Greensboro is a small town in Northeast Kingdom on Caspian Lake. But despite its small size, it has gained world recognition for beer and cheese.

Hill Farmstead has been ranked the best brewery in the world multiple times and Jasper Hill Farm had gotten the same praise for their cheese. Both are in Greensboro.
“It’s a special place that draws special people,” says Sally Pollak, a contributor to the Savorvore Section of the Burlington Free Press.

You can find out more about Greensboro in Pollak’s piece How Greensboro Fosters The Best Cheese, Beer In World.

The VPR Café is made possible by Kimball Brook Farm, organic milk and cream from Vermont grass-grazed cows.

Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
Liam is Vermont Public’s public safety reporter, focusing on law enforcement, courts and the prison system.
