Adam Woogmaster lets customers choose what they pay for his tacos at Chez Mami's food truck in Marshfield.

Somewhere on Route 2 at the intersection of rock 'n roll, good intentions and culinary whimsy, is a taco truck making a small difference in the world. No menu, no fixed prices and live music!

Now out for its third season, Chez Mami Catering's taco food truck can be found in front of Onion River Campground on Route 2 in Marshfield. The ordering and payment process is kind of free-form; you decide how you'd like your taco prepared and then choose how much you'd like to pay - after you're done eating.

The truck is currently operated by Chef Adam Woogmaster but was started in 2017 by Ariel Zevon, who also founded the Local Agricultural Community Exchange in Barre (LACE). Woogmaster worked with Zevon at LACE and both are committed to getting food to people who need to eat. Hence, the optional payment plan. When Seven Days food writer Sally Pollak spoke with Woogmaster, he explained that the intention is "to feed everybody who is hungry with the highest-possible-quality food regardless of their ability to pay for it."

Pollak tells us more about Chez Mami's food, philosophy and live entertainment in this episode of The VPR Cafe. You can also read her interview with Woogmaster in her article, "Grilling the Chef: Adam Woogmaster Talks Tacos and Food Trucks."
