Art Hounds: Industrial Art

Donna Iverson recommends the newest work by a long-time and much-loved Vermont artist who has taken quite a departure from her well-known watercolors.

Katharine Montstream went inside the long-empty Moran Plant on Burlington’s Waterfront and captured a new beauty amongst the cold, industrial shapes and graffiti.

Her "Moran Plant Interiors" display is up at her new gallery on St. Paul Street in Burlington through the end of the month.

Jan Bruss recommend an exhibit at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph.

"Points of View," features the collected works of seven Vermont artists who have been meeting once a week to paint portraits of a live model. The exhibit is up through November 10th.

Dick Harper of the All Arts Council in St. Albans has uncovered an usual venue for viewing art: The Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. This month's featured artist is painter Linda Wirts of Franklin County.

Next week, we’ll hear from chief curator Mara Williams of the Brattleboro Museum’s and Arts Center about the region's event called, "Brattleboro West."
