House Speaker Smith; Live Blues By Keller

11/8/13 Noon and 7 p.m.:  Speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives Shap Smith discusses a issues that will face the Legislature in January when lawmakers convene; and blues musician Dave Keller plays a few songs from his new album in a live performance.

Speaker Smith provides his assessment of the state's health care exchange, Vermont Health Connect, and Governor Peter Shumlin's decision to postpone the individual enrollment deadline to March 31. We also look at how lawmakers will deal with the Shumlin administration's plan to level-fund state government, the pressure that puts on human service programs, and whether income and sales taxes increases should be part of the calculation.

Dave Keller recorded his new blues album in Memphis with legendary soul musicians and producers. Keller performs tracks from "Soul Changes"  live on Vermont Edition. Keller's style on guitar has been described as gritty with phenomenal finger-picking, paired with a resonant and captivating voice.
