Look, Up In The Sky!: The Winter Weather Show
Skidding on ice. Digging out from a heavy snowfall. Braving sub-zero temps. That’s right, it’s winter in Vermont. We may not always love the weather here, but we’re always intrigued by it.
Mark Breen, the senior meteorologist at the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, and Andy Nash, chief meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Burlington, look back on the region’s major weather events of 2013 and explain what causes our severe winter weather episodes.
We also hear about how the trees in Vermont’s forests and wildlife fare in the face of ice and heavy snow.
