VPR Cafe: Elmore Bakery

Emily McManamy / FREE PRESS
Blair Marvin pulls a batch of fresh baguettes from the oven at Elmore Mountain Bakery in Wolcott

Elmore Mountain Bakery has built a steady following of customers who love the smell, texture and taste of their hand shaped hearth baked breads. The bakery itself is also hand shaped by owners Blair Marvin and Andrew Heyn. This week on the VPR Cafe, Melissa Pasanen tells us about how Heyn designed and built innovations for the bakery including their own flour mill. Melissa writes for the Savorvore Section of the Burlington Free Press, where you can read more about Elmore Bakery and watch a video of Blair at work.

Broadcast Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 10:45 a.m.

The VPR Cafe is produced in collaboration with The Burlington Free Press and is made possible on VPR by the Vermont Community Foundation Food and Farm Program.

Franny was VPR's Director of Programming & Production.
Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
