Ethan Allen Demythologized

He was bold, fearless and a great leader of men. He cut a dashing figure with his long blonde hair and his Continental Army uniform. These are the images that have been handed down of the most iconic of all Vermonters - Ethan Allen.

But how much of that is true? And where did these myths, legends and images of the Green Mountain Boys leader develop?

Inventing Ethan Allen is a new book written by John Duffy and Nick Muller that explores the myths and legends that have developed around this man. They discuss how and why these stories were created and present a clearer picture of the real Allen.

Northfield State Representative Anne Donahue sits on the House Human Services Committee and the Mental Health Oversight Committee. She discusses the recently passed Senate bill 287, which addresses involuntary treatment and medication.

Broadcast live on Tuesday, May 20 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
