My Place: Remembering Gerry Goffin

On June 19, 2014 veteran popular lyricist Gerry Goffin passed away at age 75. Collaborating with his first wife, Carole King, as well as other composers, Goffin wrote the words to many dozens of hit songs throughout a career in music that extended over six decades.

This week on My Place, Gerry Goffin's lifetime of music with his most famous and significant compositions including memorable hit recordings by the Shirelles, the Drifters and the Beatles.

Joel has been a part of Vermont's radio scene since 1964. He began his career at WIPS in Ticonderoga, New York. In 1965, he moved to WFAD in Middlebury, Vermont, where he attended Middlebury College. Over the years, Joel worked at radio stations WJOY, WQCR, WDOT, WDEV and WVAA where he served at various times as Morning Announcer, Program Director and News Director.
