Midsummer musical madness ... all the way from the Kingston Trio to the mad UK septet Blowzabella, and, of course, always back to Vermont !

This program airs on Sunday July 13 from 7 to 10 p.m.

This week’s calendar announcements :

The Burlington acoustic trio Soaked Oats will give a free concert in Burlington’s City Hall park on Wed. July 16 at noon.

Alan Greenleaf and the Doctor will be playing in St. Johnsbury as part of the Summer Series at Four Seasons Park on Thurs. July 17 from 6:30 on. They will also be at the St. Johnsbury Farmers Market on Sat. July 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The upcoming year’s Flynn Theater program includes Los Lobos, Del McCoury, Sweet Honey in the Rock, and Gilberto Gil.

Greg Ryan from They Might Be Gypsies will be performing solo on Friday, July 18 at the Wild Fern in Stockbridge at 7 p.m.

The 20th annual Solarfest will be held at Forget-Me-Not Farm in Tinmouth from July 18 – 20. There will be lots of music, including the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Keeghan Nolan, Bow Thayer, and Waylon SpeedThe Dirty Dozen Brass Band will also be playing at the Rusty Nail in Stowe on Friday, July 18.

The Sky Blue Boys will perform on Wednesday, July 16 at the PellerinShapire Bandstand in Middlesex at 6:30 p.m. and on Thursday, July 17 at noon in Montpelier at the pocket park on State Street.

Lewis Franco and the Brown Eyed Girls will play at the Montpelier farmer’s market on Saturday, July 19 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Vermont band Chickweed will perform on Thursday, July 17 at Brown’s Bistro in Groton at 6:30 p.m.

The Do Good festival, a benefit festival for the cancer patient fund, will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 1 National Life Drive in Montpelier. Featured performers include Patrick Fitzsimmons and the Gordon Stone Band.

This month’s Rochester contradance will be held on Thurs. July 17 at Pierce Hall.  The band for this dance will be Pete’s Posse.

Woodchuck’s Revenge will play at the Ludlow farmer’s market on Friday, July 18 at 4 p.m. and at a gazebo concert on the Ludlow village green on Sunday, July 20 at 7 p.m.

The Swing Peepers will perform at the annual Teddy Bear Picnic at the Essex Jct. Recreational park on Tuesday, July 15 at 2 p.m., and at the Plainfield library on the same day at 6:30 p.m.

Café Lena in Saratoga Springs presents Roy Hurd with Frank Orsini on Saturday, July 19 at 8 p.m. and Bernice Lewis with the Twangtown Paramours on Sunday, July 20 at 7 p.m.

Prydein will perform on the Castleton green on Tuesday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Summer Concert Series.
