It's never been particularly easy to be a farmer, and you might have heard that the average age of farmers is increasing. This has some people concerned that not enough young people are interested in growing our food.

In Vermont, there is a program that is hoping to change this by helping young people get into the business. Melissa Pasanen, food writer for the Savorvore Section of the Burlington Free Press, joined VPR Cafe to talk about the Youth Agriculture Individual Development Account Program.
