Vermont WIC agencies were nationally recognized this week for their programs to encourage breastfeeding.

Last week, Vermont was recognized by the USDA for the state's programs to support and promote breastfeeding. At the same time, the issue of a mother's decision to breastfeed - or not to - can lead to particularly charged conversations amongst parents. What is it about this aspect of parenting that can lead to such intense emotions and potential judgment?

We're joined by Tricia Cassi, WIC State Breastfeeding Coordinator for Vermont. And by Josilyn Adams, who writes at the Burlington VT Moms Blog.

Also, we're joined by Annette Spaulding, who found an ancient petroglyph near Brattleboro that has been submerged in the Connecticut River since 1909.

Broadcast live on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
