'StoryCorps' Vermont: Falling In Love, With Cancer

StoryCorps
John Tedesco and Shoshana Goldstein of Burlington shared their love story at the StoryCorps mobile booth in Burlington

John Tedesco and his wife Shoshana Goldstein came to the StoryCorps mobile booth to talk about how they fell in love – starting with their first date when John told Shoshana he had cancer. They reflect on how their journey has helped them be present with each other and with other people.

“People value the experience that we’ve been through. I know that you and I have both become magnets of folks that are going through difficult situations and that we’ve actually made it through,” says John Tedesco.

Their conversation was one of dozens recorded during August while the StoryCorps mobile booth was at the Echo Center in Burlington. StoryCorps is a national initiative to record and collect stories of everyday people. Excerpts were selected and produced by VPR.
