Art Hounds: Puppets In The Garden And Quaker Furniture

This weekend, Gordon and Mary Hayward will open their gardens in Westminster West for an outdoor performance from Sandglass Theater.

This week, puppets put on a show in a garden, a quartet takes the stage to play Beethoven and Vermont-made Quaker furniture is on view.

Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Westminster West: "Puppets in Paradise" from Sandglass Theater celebrates 30 years in Vermont with a program in the gardens of Gordon and Mary Hayward, suggested by Christopher Irion.

Saturday, September 10 at at 7:30 p.m. at the Chandler Center in Randolph: American singer/songwriter Iris DeMent in concert at the Chandler, suggested by Michael Roberts from Guilford.

Seasonal exhibit at The Rokeby Museum in Ferrisburg: "Quaker Made: Vermont Furniture from 1820 to 1835", is a showing of Vermont Quaker furniture maker Stephen Foster Stevens' pieces and personal items, suggested by David Hurwitz from Randolph.

Sunday, September 18 at 2 p.m. at Ovahi Zedek in Burlington: The Boston-based Cardamom Quartet will play a program of Beethoven’s Quartet Op. 74, “The Harp” and contemporary composer Osvaldo Golijov’s ‘Tenebrae,” as well as original works by quartet members, recommended by Sharon Panitch in Burlington.
