Awesome Etiquette: A "Soup"er Table Manner

Hoyabird8
A warm bowl of soup is the ultimate in comfort food. And with a few simple etiquette tips, you'll be comfortable and spill-free when you eat it.

You're seated at a restaurant and in front of you, the waiter places a beautiful bowl of soup. Instead of settling in to enjoy the meal, you might begin to fret about the inevitable spill potential.

But if you remember an easy soup-eating etiquette mantra, the meal will end up in your mouth and not on the tablecloth, napkin, or your newly pressed, crisp, white shirt.

Just remember, "Dip away. Drip away. Tip away." Dip your spoon into your soup away from you to scoop it, drip any drips away from you and into the bowl, and tip the bowl away and not towards you to catch the last delectable drop.

Some table manners may fall out of fashion but other practical tips, like this one, are great to keep in your etiquette arsenal.
