Into The Woods: Getting To Know Trees From The Roots On Up
There they stand - stoically, quietly, majestically. But there is so much going on in, on and under the trees that surround us. They provide so much more than just shade and oxygen for humans. Vermont Edition explores the hidden world of our trees.
Joining us is Michael Snyder, commissioner of Vermont's Forest, Parks and Recreation Department and the author of the new book, Woods Whys: An Exploration of Forests and Forestry.
And we'll be joined by Alexandra Kosiba, research project coordinator for the Forest Ecosystem Monitoring Cooperative.
They'll give us insights into the lives of trees from root to crown, explain how trees interact with one another and discuss how so much of the forest ecosystem relies on trees for food and shelter.
Broadcast live on Monday, July 8, 2019 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
