Bluegrass Grammy contenders Frank Solivan and his band Dirty Kitchen

The longest month of the year when practically everyone can wear some shade of green, and when the VPR listening area has a many live music shows as Bourbon Street on any Saturday night!

This program will air on Sunday March 1st from 7 - 10 p.m.

This week's calendar announcements:

The Quebecois band Rosiers will be the featured performers at the Ripton Community Coffeehouse on Saturday March 7th.  Doors open at 7 p.m.

Next Stage Arts Project and Twilight Music present contemporary folk singer/songwriters May Erlewine and Clayton Sabine on Saturday, March 7th at 7:30 p.m. at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in downtown Putney. MountainFolk is pleased to also present May Erlewine and her Trio at the Seven Stars Arts Center in Sharon on Friday, March 6th. Doors @ 7, show @ 7:30 p.m. May will also play at the Richmond Congregational Church on Sunday March 8th at  p.m.

Adirondack songwriter Celia Evans will perform at the Palmer St. Coffeehouse in Plattsburg on Friday March 6th at 7:30 p.m.

In preparation for a tour of Japan in April, teen players, singers and dancers with Young Tradition Touring Group will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7th, at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph.

Singer-songwriters Jenna Rice and Emily Lyons will co-headline a listening event at Stage 33 Live on Sunday, March 8th  at 7 p.m. at 33 Bridge Street in Bellow Falls.

On Saturday, March 7, the Fairfield Community Center will host its annual Sap Run Boogie at the Abbey Restaurant and Pub in Sheldon.  Admission buys a spaghetti dinner and dessert  and a dance featuring Nobby Reed Project. Dinner is at 6, dance runs 7-10.

Young Tradition VT presents Altan on Monday March 2nd at the FlynnSpace in Burlington at 7 p.m.

The Irish Heritage Festival presents OhAnleigh at the FlynnSpace on Saturday March 7th at 7 p.m.

Dana and Susan Robinson will play at the Music Box in Craftsbury on Saturday March 7th at 7 p.m.

The Barre Opera House will present Leahy on Saturday March 7th.

Beppe Gambetta will play at Brandon Music on Saturday March 7th at 7:30 p.m.

The Flynn Center in Burlington presents Robert Cray on Friday March 6th.

Dervish will perform in Waterloo QC at Maison de la culture on Sunday, March 8, 7:30 p.m.

Francesca Blanchard will be playing at Radio Bean in Burlington on Thursday March 5th.

Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2020, will visit Zenbarn in Waterbury on Thursday, March 5th . Doors open at 7pm.
