This weeks calendar announcements:

The 22nd Annual Folk Music Concert “A Celebration of Singing” will feature singer, composer, and song-collector Moira Smiley. The annual folk concert is organized by singer Deb Flanders in honor of her great-aunt Helen Hartness Flanders, an internationally recognized ballad collector and authority on folk music found in New England and in the British Isles. Joining Deb and Moira are multi-instrumentalist Pete Sutherland, fiddler Oliver Scanlon, cellist Michael Close, violinist/fiddler Laura Markowitz and Andrew Ryan on double bass. The concert will be hehld at Old West Church in Calais on Sunday August 22nd at 4 p.m.

Burlington City Arts present free concerts in City Hall park every Wednesday and Friday all summer at noon. This week's performers are Moose Crossing on Wednesday, August 18th and Binger on Friday, August 20th.

Kat Wright will be performing at Backside 405 in Burlington on Saturday August 21st

Robert Resnik has been the host of All the Traditions, VPR's folk and world music show, since 1996. He is the winner of the 2019 Herb Lockwood Prize In the Arts, an honor that "aims to reward the pinnacle of arts leadership in a state blessed with creative energy disproportionate to its population." He is also the recipient of the 2022 Magaret Kannestine Arts Advocacy Award from the Vermont Arts Council, and is a 2023 inductee to the International Folk Alliance's FolkDJ Hall of Fame.
