Refugee resettlement office to open in Brattleboro

A bright, sunny day in downtown Brattleboro.
Howard Weiss-Tisman
The Ethiopian Community Development Council will open its refugee resettlement office, the Multicultural Community Center, on Oct. 29 in Brattleboro.

Live call-in discussion: More than 100,000 refugees were evacuated from Afghanistan in the last few months. Vermont will soon welcome around 100 of them. When they arrive, they’ll face challenges like adjusting to a new culture, finding jobs and housing, and recovering from post-tramautic stress.

This hour, we speak to advocates working on behalf of refugees and asylum seekers. They are busy right now, preparing for the new arrivals.

Broadcast live on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 at noon.
