These are Live Performances on VPR and VPR Classical.

The Boston-based Musicans of the Old Post Road specialize in music from the late 17th century through the early 19th century on period instruments in historic venues along the Old Boston Post Road.  VPR Classical's Helen Lyons spoke with the group's co-artistic directors, Suzanne Stumpf and Dan Ryan.

Vermont Symphony Orchestra

The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet visits VPR's Stetson Studio One for a program of holiday music, made possible with support from Quantum Leap Capital.

Trio Sefardi Live

Trio Sefardi visits VPR's Stetson Studio One for a live preview of their program of music from the Sephardic Jewish tradition, which they'll perform in several locations around Vermont.

The Opera Company of Middlebury visits VPR's Stetson Studio One for a live preview of their production of Puccini's Tosca.

Vermont pianist Diane Huling visits VPR's Stetson Studio One for a live performance preview of her Barre Opera House recital, which will include works of Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Rachmaninoff.

Flutist Karen Kevra, harpist Jennifer Hoult, and cellist Emily Taubl visit VPR's Stetson Studio One for a live performance preview of a series of noon meditation concerts that Capital City Concerts will give at the Vermont Statehouse on the first 3 Fridays of September.

VPR Classical broadcasts the opening concert of the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival, live from the Elley-Long Music Center.  James Stewart and Helen Lyons host.  Co-Artistic Directors Soovin Kim, violin, and Gloria Chien, piano, play a Rondo by Schubert; and the Borromeo Quartet plays works by Bartok, Haydn and Beethoven.

The Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival makes its annual visit to VPR's Stetson Studio One to perform String Quintets by Mendelssohn and Brahms.

The Indianapolis Quartet and musicians from the Taconic Music Summer Festival visit VPR's Stetson Studio One to perform Beethoven's String Quartet No. 4 in C minor and some of Tchaikovsky's Souvenir of Florence String Sextet.

The Opera Company of Middlebury will give four fully-staged performances of Massenet's opera Cendrillon (Cinderella) from May 31 through June 8.  Listen for a live performance preview Thursday morning on VPR Classical.

Costa Rican "gypsy devil" Maiz Vargas Sandoval and his Afro-Cumbia Orchestra, Mal Maíz,  lit up VPR's Stetson Studio One in January. There dynamic set kicked off Live From The Fort's New Voices Project, a collaboration between VPR and The Flynn Center's New Voices Series. The project will showcase world musical traditions nestled in and around the Queen City.
