Pianist Simone Dinnerstein returns to the VPR Performance Studio for a live preview of her recital at Chandler Center for the Arts on Saturday, which will include music of Schumann, Schubert and the premiere of Breugel Suite by Philip Lasser, who will also be present.

The Opera Company of Middlebury gives us a live preview of their production of Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.

A Fleeting Animal

A Fleeting Animal is an opera by Vermont composer Erik Nielsen to a libretto by David Budbill, based on his play Judevine.  Nielsen's revised version will tour the state for 6 performances from September 11 to 20.  Nielsen and lead characters will join us for a live preview on Friday at noon.

Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival

The Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival’s theme for this season is “Sounds of the Wind”, concerts that feature chamber works for a combination of woodwinds, strings, and piano. The opening concert will be broadcast live on VPR Classical this Sunday, hosted by Walter Parker and James Stewart.

Vermont band The Snaz performs Live From The Fort!


Friday at noon, the Central Vermont Chamber Music Festival makes its annual visit to the VPR Performance Studio for a preview their season in Randolph and Woodstock August 10-23.  We'll hear a quartet of cellists: Chris Finckel, Hannah Holman, Jeffrey Ziegler and Artistic Director Peter Sanders.

Cheng2 Duo Live

The Cheng2 Duo ('Cheng-squared Duo') is a family affair, comprising brother Bryan Cheng, cello, and sister Silvie Cheng, piano.  On Friday they'll give us a live preview of their concert at Fisk Farm on Isle La Motte this Saturday.
