Welch Pushes For Ethanol Reform

Vermont's lone member of the U.S. House of Representatives is going to be talking about the need to reform a federal requirement that most motor fuel contain ethanol.

U.S. Rep. Peter Welch, a Democrat, argues the requirement that ethanol, which is made from corn, be used in motor fuels has driven up the price of corn, increasing costs for Vermont dairy farmers.

And he argues ethanol can harm some small engines.

Welch is going to be discussing what he calls a bi-partisan plan to reform the ethanol mandate at an event Friday in Colchester.
