Historic Site To Celebrate Calvin Coolidge On July 4th

A Vermont historic site will celebrate the birth of the country and the 30th president on the Fourth of July.

A delegation of the Vermont National Guard will lead a march to the Plymouth Notch Cemetery on Thursday to place a wreath from the White House on Calvin Coolidge's grave site. Members of the Coolidge family plan to attend.

Following the ceremony, the President Calvin Coolidge Historic Site's restaurant will hold a chicken barbecue. Other events take place throughout the afternoon, including blue grass music and a talk by Civil War historian and author Howard Coffin.

Coolidge is the country's only president born on Independence Day. He was president from 1923 to 1929.
