Vermont Among 5 States Chosen For Education Program

The state of Vermont is one of five chosen to implement a five-year program that will focus on areas such as student behavior, academics and family engagement.

The Vermont Agency of Education says Vermont, was chosen based on criteria that included having rural, high-need districts.

In Vermont the project will work with the Grand Isle, Franklin Northwest, Windham Southeast, and the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Unions. The project will work in four schools in each district.

The School-wide Integrated Framework for Transformation project is run out of a center at the University of Kansas.

The center will support the schools by providing national experts to help them focus on areas of concern.
