Independent Media Festival Comes To Southern Vermont
Southern Vermont will become a Hollywood outpost as Dover and Wilmington play host to the Independent Television and Film Festival, September 26th through the 28th.
This is the 8th annual ITV Fest, which allows film, TV and web producers to meet with industry executives.
But this marks the first time the festival is being held in Vermont. The three-day event is being expanded to include comedy and music performances, as well as a classic car show.
Festival Executive Director Philip Gilpin, Jr. says that moving the festival from Los Angeles to Vermont allows participants to focus on the content, rather than the social whirlwind associated with Hollywood events.
Gilpin says the festival has also been expanded to include comedy and music performances, as well as a classic car show.
Gilpin stresses that the organizers have worked hard to insure the ITV Festival is non-exclusionary, and open to all who want to attend.
VPR's Neal Charnoff talked with Gilpin about the Festival's move to Southern Vermont.
