Dorothy's List: A Monthly Series for Young Readers

Each school year, thousands of Vermont students read the books nominated for the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children’s Book Award. Thirty books make the annual list, and fourth through eighth graders vote for their favorite title in the spring.

This school year, Vermont Editionwill be taking a closer look at some of the books on the Dorothy Canfield Fisher list in a new segment called Dorothy's List: A Monthly Series for Young Readers. We’ll visit schools and libraries around Vermont to hear what kids have to say about the books. We’ll also speak with the authors – and let the kids ask the questions.  So grab a book and join us for Dorothy’s List: A Monthly Series for Young Readers. It’s not your parents’ book club!

Dorothy's Listbegins Monday, October 7 on Vermont Edition. We'll listen in as students from U-32 Middle School in Montpelier discuss S.S. Taylor's The Expeditioners and the Treasure of Drowned Man's Canyon. We'll hear from Vermont author S.S. Taylor about her story, characters, and what adventures lie ahead as The Expeditioners series continues.

Coming next in Dorothy's List: Steve Sheinkin's Bomb: The Race to Build - and Steal - the World's Most Dangerous Weapon.
