Marlboro Band Uses Musical CSA To Deliver New Music

While a lot of bands around the country are competing for Kickstarter cash to launch music projects, there is a band in Marlboro that has come up with a more novel idea.

Last year, Red Heart The Ticker launched a new project called “Songs in the Lunar Phase.” The members of the band - Robin MacArthur and her husband, Tyler Gibbons - describe it as a musical CSA, which works like this:  For an annual fee, subscribers receive a new song by the band delivered each month via email on the day of the new full moon. The songs are written specifically for the project.

MacArthur and Gibbons spoke with Vermont Edition about the project.

Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
