End-of-life issues form the basis of a new dance piece being presented in Burlington this weekend.

To You, Around You, About You explores the themes of aging, memory, loss and the transition to death, and will be presented at the Spotlight Theateron Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

The piece is part of a collaboration between the Bryce Dance Company and residents of a nearby independent living facility.

Artistic Director Healther Byce says much of the work is abstract, allowing the company to translate the emotion of the experience.

She says she was surprised by the dark humor conveyed by the residents she talked with, one of whom told her, "We're all terminal!"

Bryce hopes the piece can inspire dialog on death and end-of-life issues.
