CCTA is adding three stops in Colchester to its Milton commuter route.

Starting Monday, the Chittenden Country Transportation Authority (CCTA) will add three stops along Route 7 in Colchester to its Milton commuter bus route.

The bus will stop at Creek Farm Plaza, Severance Corners and on Water Tower Hill in Colchester. Buses will operate several trips during the  morning and afternoon commutes. There will also be midday and late evening busses on the new schedule.

According to a CCTA announcement, the new stops are the result of a service contract between the town of Colchester and CCTA that "lays out the framework for a three-year pilot project to re-align the Milton commuter route from I-89 to Route 7 through Colchester." The pilot project will allow the town of Colchester to measure the effectiveness and desirability of transit service.

Colchester Town Manager Dawn Francis commented, “The town has been interested in providing bus service along the Route 7 corridor for many years. This service adds to other public investments and supports town growth plans along this important transportation corridor. The re-alignment of the Milton commuter through Colchester provides another transportation option to residents, employees, and businesses.”
