Anders Parker Live Performance

Vermont-based singer/songwriter Anders Parker has released a new album titled “There’s a Blue Bird in My Heart.” Most of the album was recorded here in Vermont, though the songs were mixed in Athens, Georgia with David Barbe, who has also done albums for Drive By Truckers, The Glands, Amy Ray, k.d. lang and R.E.M.

The name of the CD comes from a line in a Charles Bukowski poem called “Bluebird.”  “This is a peom I’ve always loved," Anders said, "Sometimes, the title of an album is there before you record it, but this one I agonized over until I was up one night and stumbled on a YouTube reading of the poemby Harry Dean Stanton.”

Anders Parker's upcoming performances:

Monday (June 30) at 8pm my new band, The Pleasant Ranchers, will be playing a last minute surprise set at The Monkey House. The most excellent Paper Castles follow us at 9pm.
Tuesday (July 1) AP and Cloud Badge will be opening for the Drive-By Truckers in Portland, ME @State Theater Portland. Set time is 8pm.
Wednesday (July 2) AP and Cloud Badge will be opening for the @Drive by Truckers in Burlington, VT Higher Ground. Set time is 9pm.

As executive producer, Patti supervises the team that puts Vermont Edition on the air every day, working with producers to select and research show ideas, select guests and develop the sound and tone of the program.
Jane Lindholm is the host, executive producer and creator of But Why: A Podcast For Curious Kids. In addition to her work on our international kids show, she produces special projects for Vermont Public. Until March 2021, she was host and editor of the award-winning Vermont Public program Vermont Edition.
