Saturday, May 2 will be the 45th annual Green Up Day in Vermont. The first Green Up Day was held in April 1970, just days before the first Earth Day. Now the annual event is held the first Saturday in May.
Every Vermont town has its own take on Green Up Day. That's because each community's effort is organized by a local volunteer coordinator. Here's some of what is going on around Vermont for Green Up Day 2015:
