Folasade Adeluola is running as an independent for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Folasade Adeluola ran in the Democratic primary this past summer for Vermont's U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Bernie Sanders. Adeluola lost that race, but she's running again in the general election as an independent.

As part of our coverage of statewide races, VPR spoke to Adeluola about her candidacy. Adeluola said she believes Sen. Sanders will run for president again in 2020, so she thinks Vermont needs a senator who can dedicate time to the work of being a senator. Adeluola also outlined her positions on immigration and on gun control.
