Son Of Former Rutland Mayor Killed His Cousin, New Police Report Finds

According to Vermont State Police, Christopher Louras, who was killed in a shootout with Rutland police in October, is responsible for the death of his cousin, Nicholas Louras.

Following a lengthy investigation, the Vermont State police have determined that 33-year old Christopher G. Louras was responsible for the October 8, 2019 shooting death of his cousin Nicholas Louras.

The 34-year-old Nicholas Louras was found dead along Lake Dunmore Road in Salisbury just hours after Christopher Louras was killed in a shootout with police in Rutland City. 

In February, Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan announced that no criminal charges would be filed against the officers involved in that shootout.

Several aspects of the case involving Nicholas Louras, including the precise timeline of events, remain under investigation. The findings were reviewed by the Addison County State’s Attorney’s Office, and according to state police, no criminal charges are pending.
