Son Of Former Rutland Mayor Killed His Cousin, New Police Report Finds
Following a lengthy investigation, the Vermont State police have determined that 33-year old Christopher G. Louras was responsible for the October 8, 2019 shooting death of his cousin Nicholas Louras.
The 34-year-old Nicholas Louras was found dead along Lake Dunmore Road in Salisbury just hours after Christopher Louras was killed in a shootout with police in Rutland City.
In February, Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan announced that no criminal charges would be filed against the officers involved in that shootout.
The double homicides rocked Rutland. The men were the son and nephew of former Rutland City mayor Christopher Louras.
Several aspects of the case involving Nicholas Louras, including the precise timeline of events, remain under investigation. The findings were reviewed by the Addison County State’s Attorney’s Office, and according to state police, no criminal charges are pending.
